John Foley was appointed as Interim Chief Executive, Prudential UK, Europe & Africa, in October 2015.
John Foley joined Prudential as Deputy Group Treasurer in 2000, before being appointed Managing Director, Prudential Capital, and Group Treasurer in 2001. He was appointed Chief Executive, Prudential Capital, and to the Group Executive Committee in 2007. In 2010, Mr Foley was appointed Group Chief Risk Officer and joined the Prudential plc Board. In 2013 he was appointed to the new role of Group Investment Director, leaving the Board but remaining a member of the Group Executive Committee. As Group Investment Director, he is responsible for ensuring stronger Group oversight of financial investments. Prior to joining Prudential, he spent three years with National Australia Bank as General Manager, Global Capital Markets.
John began his career at Hill Samuel & Co. Limited where, over a 20-year period, he worked in every division of the bank, culminating in senior roles in risk, capital markets and treasury of the combined TSB and Hill Samuel Bank.
John was appointed Executive Director of Distribution in April 2014. Distribution brings together all areas associated with delivering the UK sales plan, covering all Distribution Channels, Distribution Strategy & Change, Risk & Controls, Distribution Operations, Business Development & Technical, Channel Marketing and Sales Communications & Events.
John joined Prudential in July 2010 as Product Director and was appointed as Managing Director of Retail Life & Pensions in May 2013. John's led a number of important initiatives in the business, such as sponsorship of the Retail Distribution Review Programme and development of our with-profits proposition to maintain its market leading position. He has also contributed significantly to making Prudential UK & Europe a great place to work, as an active member of the Engagement Board.
John has over 30 years' experience in financial services and before joining Prudential he held several senior management positions in Halifax, HBoS and the Lloyds Banking Group. Prior to that he worked in intermediary sales, as an IFA, and in pensions operations for Commercial Union among other companies.
Aki assumes accountability for Actuarial from April 2014. Aki was appointed Chief Financial Officer in June 2013, having been on the Board of the Prudential Assurance Company Limited since March 2012. In addition, Aki has been the Business Representative for UK & Europe in the Group CEO Office since he joined Prudential plc in July 2009.
Aki has held a number of senior roles in Financial Services and Telecoms & Media sectors. Most recently he was Finance Director for the Consumer Bank division at Lloyds Banking Group until June 2009, and prior to that he was Finance Director for the Consumer division of ntl (now Virgin Media) until June 2006. Whilst at ntl, his responsibilities from time to time included operational aspects of the business including Call Centre management, Complaints department, IT and Procurement.
Aki is a chartered accountant with 14 years' experience, having qualified with KPMG.
Cathy Lewis was appointed Executive Director of Corporate Services in April 2014. Corporate Services brings together the services that are used equally by all parts of the business: Brand & Sponsorship, Creative, HR, Corporate Responsibility, PPMS, PR, and Sourcing. By bringing these genuinely shared services into a single function, Corporate Services allows the business to run these teams as efficiently and effectively as possible, while continuing to provide high quality support.
Prior to joining, Cathy spent several years in financial services, firstly as the Group HR Director for Co-operative Financial Services and prior to this Group Reward Director for Abbey Plc (now Santander UK), and more recently Group HR Director for Co-operative Financial Services. Cathy's previous roles also include Group Head of Leadership & Talent for BAA plc, and HR Director Gatwick Airport. Her early career was in various HR roles in the retail sector.
Tulsi Naidu is the Executive Director at Prudential UK & Europe with responsibility for strategy, public affairs and commercial leadership of the retail and wholesale business lines. She brings to this role significant and varied general management experience within Prudential having started in corporate development working on a range of transactions, held P&L responsibility for multiple business lines, managed the direct distribution sales teams and having served most recently prior to her current role as Chief Operations Officer with responsibility for IT, Customer Service, Change and Prudential's India shared service centre. In that role she was focused on transforming Prudential's customer delivery while delivering significant regulatory change. She now continues to lead the digital agenda within the business.
Prior to joining Prudential, Tulsi worked as an investment banker with CSFB and prior to that in structured finance with ICICI. She has an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad and a B. A. in Mathematics, Economics and Statistics. Tulsi has served as a member of Business In the Community's Education leadership Team since 2011.
Daniel was appointed to the new role of Capital and Commercial Director in January 2014. He will lead on strategy for Prudential UK & Europe and also be jointly responsible for the capital optimisation of the business.
Daniel joins us from Zurich UK Life where he most recently held the role of Chief Financial Officer. He has a number of years experience in life and general insurance and is a trained actuary. Daniel held a variety of senior positions in previous roles including as Chief Actuary of Zurich Insurance plc and in Group Investor Relations.
Shali Vasudeva was appointed Executive Director Operations in September 2014, with responsibility for determining and delivering the customer service strategy, delivering insourced and outsourced customer service, Pru Change, Pru IT and Service Development to support the business strategy.
Shali joined Prudential in 2010 as Head of Commercial and went on to become Director of Commercial in 2013. She has a detailed understanding of the Operations function and also brings to the role a wide knowledge of third party commercial contracts in the financial services sector.
Before joining Prudential Shali spent a number of years working for account management organisations, holding the role of Business Development Director for RR Donnelley Global Document Solutions and Account Director at Capita Business Services and Cap Gemini.
Pat was appointed as Interim Chief Risk Officer in November 2015. He joined Prudential Group Head Office in May 2011 as Director of Group Risk, Governance & Reporting. In late 2013 he became Group Risk Chief Operating Officer.
Pat was previously the Risk and Compliance Director at PruCap from April 2007, where he was responsible for all aspects of treasury and wholesale risk management, including credit, liquidity, market, operational and regulatory risk. Prior to this, he was Wholesale Risk Director at Egg Banking for three years. He has been with the Prudential Group since 2004.
Guy Dunlop has been Head of UKIO Legal & Company Secretariat since November 2010.Since this time he has enhanced the effectiveness of Prudential's UK & Europe legal function and his extensive experience and expertise has further strengthened our Group Leadership Team.
Prior to joining Prudential, Guy was an Associate at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP, London. He had also previously held senior roles at Clifford Chance LLP, London, as Senior Assistant, Global Financial Institutions Group, and two law firms in South Africa. Guy is admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales and an attorney in South Africa.
