Financial Education Policy

In April 2009, the UK Business took over responsibility for the Prudential Financial Education programme in the UK. Previously the programme had been run by Prudential plc as part of a group-wide programme.

Financial Education Programme

The programme is intended to help address poor levels of financial capability across the UK, helping people become more informed about their financial needs and building the long-term capacity of community organisations to provide financial education. We work in partnership with existing, trusted, organisations who can deliver front-line training to adults and children.

Financial Education Objectives

  • To make a positive difference to financial capability

Measures of success

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) will be put in place to measure the performance against the agreed objectives. These will be reviewed regularly and recommendations will be made to the Community and Financial Education Committee based on the performance against these measures. The Head of Corporate Responsibility and Community Relations will be accountable for setting the KPIs and reporting the performance against objectives to the Community and Financial Education Committee. KPIs will also be developed with each community partner and will be the basis for an evaluation for each community project.
