Our online notification form is the best way to inform us of a death. It's quick and easy and should take about 10 minutes to complete.

You'll need to be able to provide some documents and key information when filling in the form, so it's best to have it all to-hand before you start.

‘Tell Us Once’ service

Use the Government's 'Tell Us Once' service to inform several government bodies of a death, in one go. This service will inform HMRC, the Department of Work and Pensions, the Passport Office, the DVLA, local councils and more.

Lines are open 8am-6pm, Monday to Friday. 0800 calls are free from BT landlines and can vary from other providers.

When you call us you'll be asked to tell us in a few words why you're calling.  Just say "Notify you of a death" and you'll be passed to someone who can help.
