2010 marked the beginning of your third year as a Prudential customer and your second bonus award based on the performance of our With-Profits Fund. Find out more about this year's bonus declaration.

What is the current situation regarding the government's response to the Parliamentary Ombudsman (PO) findings and will Prudential be supporting this work?

As announced in January 2009, Sir John Chadwick has been advising the Government on any possible 'ex gratia payments' to former or current Equitable Life policyholders. In August 2009, Sir John published his interim report to the Ombudsman and the Ombudsman replied on 4 September 2009. In December 2009 a second interim report was published and in March 2010 Sir John issued his third and final interim report.

Sir John had been expected to submit his final advice to the Government in May 2010. However, the Government has granted Sir John an extension to this timetable and Sir John will now deliver his advice to the Government by mid July.

It is expected that the Government will publish Sir John's final report along with a detailed update, including next steps towards implementing an independently designed payment scheme.
