You need to enclose a covering letter including your policy number, your previous name, your new name and your new signature. We also require the original Marriage Certificate, Civil Partnership Certificate, Decree Absolute or Deed Poll - this will be returned to you.

Change of Bank Details

In order to change bank details on your plan you will need to complete a new Direct Debit form and return it to:

Please ensure you complete the following sections:

  • Prudential plan/policy Number
  • Bank account holder's name
  • Sort Code
  • Account Number
  • Bank / Building Society Name & Address

If your plan/policy isn’t included above please call 0800 000 000 between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday and we will send you a form.

Note: A Direct Debit payment request is sent to your bank 8 working days before we deduct payment from your account. Therefore when changing your bank details please ensure that your Direct Debit form reaches us at least 10 working days before your payment is due. This is to ensure that we can process the Direct Debit in plenty of time.

Payments Returned Unpaid by Your Bank Refer to Payer

If a payment is rejected by your bank, Prudential will write to you to notify you of the payment position - the arrears can then be paid by a cheque made payable to Prudential Assurance Company Limited/Policyholder's Name or Policy Number or by the existing Direct Debit.

Returned - Account Details Incorrect, Direct Debit Cancelled

If a payment is rejected by your bank, we will write to you to notify you of the payment position - the arrears can then be paid by a cheque made payable to Prudential Assurance Company Limited/Policyholder's Name or Policy Number. We would need the correct details and you may have to send us a new Direct Debit form - please check this with your bank.

Direct Debit Payment - Alteration of Payment Date

If you would like to change your payment frequency to monthly Direct Debit, please complete the appropriate Direct Debit form above. Please also enclose a covering letter confirming that you wish to change your payment frequency to monthly.

0800 numbers are free from a BT landline. 0845 numbers are charged at your local call rate unless you have a calling plan in which case they are free. 0870 numbers are charged at your national call rate. International numbers are charged at your international call rate.

Call charges will be different if you are calling from a mobile phone or other network. Please speak to your network provider for details of their call charges to these numbers.
