What does our service mean to our clients?

"The meeting was most beneficial because it rekindled my knowledge of why I had started my pension plan with the Pru in the first place and as a result of the meeting, I have committed to making monthly contributions again until I am 70.

As a businessman, I am not easily persuaded by people and I don't like pushiness. I was very impressed with the way the adviser presented himself. There was no pushiness, he was positive, informative and reassuring throughout.

His opening statement was that if there was anything at all I didn't want to speak about, I should make him aware of it, so I immediately felt at ease with him. He seemed to fit in with the furniture and he felt like someone I had known for a long time.

He gave a brief resume of what he had done before, his background and the way he was positioned with the Pru. After his introduction, I felt easier about speaking to him. He said it was better for the client to do 75 per cent of the talking. He was very polite and not intrusive at all.

It is far better to meet someone in the comfort of your own home to discuss your financial affairs and to have the face-to-face contact with a real person, rather than having to click on a website. This visit led us to re-visiting our pensions.

I have been in business for 20 years and when I talk to banks and other financial services companies, I always find it far more comforting to be able to put a face to a name, rather than having to go onto a website. I value the face to-face contact. You get far more honesty than going onto a website and being told that your submission has been accepted. Face-to-face contact delivers far greater confidence.

You cannot create the confidence on a website that you can achieve from a face-to-face meeting, where you can see the attitudes that people adopt if they are lying, not trustworthy or lack confidence."
