High fuel costs 'affecting some pension holders'

A number of pension holders may have concerns about the size of their energy bills this winter, according to one organisation.

Elizabeth Finn Care believes that more action needs to be taken in order to support the country's older population during the colder months.

The body's Director of Casework Bryan Clover suggests that some consumers may have to face up to financial shortfalls when they receive their next energy bill.

He commented: "There are people out there who are anxiously holding their breath in fear of the heating bills that are due to arrive. Will they be able to find the money to pay them?"

The current level of Winter Fuel Allowance that a number of pension holders can gain may not stretch far enough, Elizabeth Finn Care has noted.

Moneysupermarket.com has recently noted the record energy bills that some people may have to deal with in the near future, following the cold winter months.
