Topic: Insurance & protection
The risk of bursting pipes should still be at the forefront of people's minds as the cold winter weather continues, it has been highlighted.
Pension holders and other home insurance customers in the UK may be interested to note the view of AXA, which believes that pipe problems have led to a number of claims being made in recent weeks.
The firm's Head of Home Insurance Nick Kidd has noted that it is not just monetary problems that escaping water can lead to.
He commented: "Not only does burst pipe damage have financial implications, especially if insurance is not in place, but it can also cause huge emotional trauma from ruined personal belongings."
Meanwhile, people in retirement may also want to be aware of the car insurance risks that pot holes in the UK's roads may cause.
AA Insurance recently suggested that a large number of claims have recently been made in relation to this issue.
