Pension reform guidance offered by NEST and REC

A number of the country's recruitment organisations were recently provided with information about next year's auto-enrolment pension reforms, thanks to the National Employment Savings Trust (NEST) and the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC).

The organisations both got involved in a seminar event earlier this month on the reforms which are included in the Pensions Bill 2011.

Head of Public Policy at the REC Gillian Econopouly noted that the recruitment sector may be challenged by the forthcoming pension system amendments.

She stated: "We were delighted to welcome NEST to meet with REC members.

"We will continue to work with NEST and other pensions experts to help recruiters get to grips with the changes."

A number of large-scale employers in the UK are set to be provided with guidance from the Pensions Regulator in the coming weeks and months, as the body aims to inform them of their auto-enrolment pension duties.
