A large portion of men and women approaching retirement will not compromise their holiday plans to save money.
When asked if they would be willing to reduce the amount of holidays they take to combat increased living costs, 43% of Over 65s said they would not, in contrast to just 27% of people aged between 15 and 24.
That is according to the latest figures from the ABTA Consumer Trends survey, which showed a total of 37% of people would not pass up their holiday plans to make savings.
Victoria Bacon, Head of Communications at ABTA, said: "Consumers have been telling us for years just how important holidays are. In tough economic times we all have to think of ways in which we can tighten our belts."
However, be it a city break, holiday abroad or staycation, more people would rather give up eating out than put their holiday plans on the backburner.
