We are seeking an organised, self-motivated and conscientious person who will enjoy working in a small team to support the delivery of internal audits for Prudential UK. The successful applicant must be able to work to deadlines with a high level of attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
As an Internal Audit Apprentice, you will support the team in the delivery of a range of internal audits across Prudential UK, in line with the objectives of the Annual Audit Plan. The role will also include supporting the Internal Audit Operations Team on both regular and ad-hoc tasks. Audits will include working with colleagues throughout the audit lifecycle to deliver an accurate assessment and reporting of the effectiveness of the management of risks, mitigating controls and supporting processes across the area being audited. The role will also involve engaging with members of the business to identify opportunities for improvement in those processes and controls.
- Collating and reviewing information on the business area being audited.
- Supporting the Audit Lead in writing and reviewing working papers to ensure they comply with the agreed standards.
- Discussing findings and draft observations with the Audit Lead and Audit Manager to verify their validity.
- Supporting the Audit Lead in drafting internal audit reports, and assisting with finalising the findings and observations.
- Working with the team and with business stakeholders to ensure the timely completion of existing audit actions.
- Supporting the completeness of documentation within the team, and contributing to improvement initiative activities.
- Providing ad hoc admin support to the team where required.

This apprenticeship is designed to help people without degrees start their careers, straight after sixth form or college, providing an opportunity to receive on-the-job training and earn a competitive salary.
You must have been a UK/EU/EAA resident for three or more years, must be eligible to work in the UK and must not have a Level 4 or higher level qualification (i.e. Certificate of Higher Education or Degree).
As a minimum, candidate will have 5 GCSEs with Maths and English grades A-C.
A Levels / AS Levels with good grades in Mathematics (B+).

Telephone interview and online personality assessment:
BPP will be in touch to let you know if we are taking your application forward and to arrange your telephone interview, which will be around 30 minutes long. You will also be asked to take on an online personality self-assessment that takes 20 minutes to complete.
After you have completed the telephone interview and online tests you will be sent a link for a one-way video interview with full instructions on what you need to do. You will be asked a question and given as mall amount of preparation time before you answer and move onto the next one.
At the Assessment Centre you will get to meet the Managers of the team that you have applied for. They'll have a face to face interview with you asking you questions and giving you a chance to ask them questions. There will also be some team building activities during the day. Some roles may include extra role specific exercises that you will be told about prior to coming along to the day.
We'll be in touch to let you know if you have been successful in getting an apprenticeship with us. If you have been successful you will then get information on your start date and we'll sort out the details.
The qualification you will gain
Your apprenticeship training shall be delivered by a blend of virtual online lectures alongside internal training and on-the-job training. This will lead to obtaining your Advanced Diploma in Accounting (Level 3) qualification.
This is a fixed term contract for 15 months upon which the business may decide to retain, subject to performance, headcount and available funding. If recruited into a permanent role, the individual will follow the career progression applicable to that specific role/department.
The role would ideally be suited to a school leaver with some prior 'work' or 'voluntary' experience, and with an interest in controls & governance and the discipline of internal auditing within a large organisation.
