What you may be looking to do:
- Take a lump sum from your bond.
- Make regular cash withdrawals.
- Change the funds your bond is invested in.

When you originally invested into a Combination Plan it combined a With-Profits bond provided by Prudential with a savings account originally provided by Northern Rock (which is now part of Virgin Money). Your initial investment was split 70% to the bond and 30% to the savings account.
After the bond and the savings account were set up, the two products were managed completely separately. This means that as your bond was set up with Prudential, it continues to be administered by us as a standard Prudence Bond. Please contact your savings provider for more information on how your savings account is managed.
You can top-up your bond at any time by completing the Top-Up Application form and sending this to us with your payment. The minimum top-up amount is £5,000 and the maximum amount you can invest is £500,000 per owner, including any top-ups. This means that joint policyholders can invest up to £1,000,000.
The minimum and maximum investment levels may vary depending on the bond version you hold or the investment fund you have selected.
Please remember that the value of any investment you already have, or any top ups you make to the bond, can go down as well as up and you may not get back the amount you put in.
When you invest in a Combination Plan, you choose where your money within the With-Profits Bond is invested. We offer a range of funds and you can invest in up to ten funds at any time.

As long as it is at least £500, you can switch your money between funds at any time. We currently don’t charge you for the first 12 switches each year and if this changes in the future, we’ll let you know.
The minimum amount you can switch is £500. If you’re not switching the full value of your investment from a particular fund, you must leave at least £500 in that fund.
How our charges affect your bond are shown in the key features document.
If you move overseas and are no longer a resident of the UK, this will impact on your ability to make further investment in this bond in the future. We’re unable to accepts payments from customers who are not physically resident in the UK. You can still make changes to the bond or take money out by calling us on calling us on 0345 640 1000.
You can take a regular income or make a withdrawal from your bond anytime by calling us on 0345 640 1000. Please read the key features document for more information on taking money out of your bond. Certain withdrawals could be subject to charges or a Market Value Reduction.
If you take money out of the Prudential (Optimum Bonus) With-Profits Fund or the Prudential (Optimum Return) With-Profits Fund, we may adjust the value of your plan if the value of the underlying assets is less than the value of your plan including all bonuses. This adjustment is known as a Market Value Reduction (MVR).
It is designed to protect investors who are not taking their money out and its application means that you get a return based on the earnings of the With-Profits Fund over the period your payments have been invested. If your personal details have changed you can update this yourself by accessing MyPru. If you have not yet registered for MyPru registration only takes a few minutes, remember to have your customer reference number to hand - register for MyPru.
If you are looking to change your name or marital status you will need to write to us with the following:
- Your customer reference number, your previous name, your new name and your new signature.
- Your original Marriage Certificate, Deed Poll or Decree Absolute (this will be returned to you straight away).
By accessing MyPru, our secure online portal, you may be able to manage your product enquiry yourself or alternatively send us a secure email to deal with your product query.
Within MyPru you can check the value of your policy, change personal details, view key documents online and send us secure messages.
