Thanks for choosing to invest in a Distribution Bond. We've been helping people with their investments for over 160 years and know how important it is to be financially stable.
What you may be looking to do:
- Take a lump sum from your bond.
- Make regular cash withdrawals.
- Change the funds your bond's invested in.
If you’re considering any of these, please look at the links at the bottom of this page.
Here's some questions that we get asked by customers who have invested in a Distribution Bond. If you still have a question that's not covered or need to make changes, simply contact us via the contact options shown below.
The Key Features Document for the Distribution Bond is a good point of reference for further information.
You can top-up your bond at any time by completing the Distribution Bond Top-Up Application form and sending this to us with your payment. The minimum top-up amount is £1,000.
If you're thinking of making changes to your plan, or paying in more money, it's really important you speak to a financial adviser. They can help you understand if what you want to do is right for you and your aims and circumstances, that may have changed since you took your plan out. They'll be responsible for the advice they give and you'll also have protection from the Financial Ombudsman Service.
Regardless of whether you’ve taken advice, you can refer any matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service for consideration should you feel that you haven't been treated fairly, or for any other aspect under the Financial Ombudsman Services remit.
The value of your investment can go down as well as up so you might get back less than you put in. If you take more money from the plan than the amount your investment has grown by, the value of your investment will be less than you’ve put in.
Your payment is invested in the Distribution Fund. Please read the Key Features Document for more information on this fund.
If you pay tax, the Distribution Bond has a valuable built-in income tax benefit that allows you to take out up to 5% of your investment each year for up to 20 years. The is free from any immediate income tax liability. However, If you take out more than 5% of the amount you first invested in any twelve month period, you might have to pay tax. Please refer to the Key Features Document for further information.
Please note that tax is based on your individual circumstances and is subject to change.
