Talking about your finances

Our first review meeting is just an initial chat to talk about your finances. We'll review your pension plan(s) and any savings or investments you have.

Talking about your financial goals

We'll also chat about your financial needs and goals.

You may have important events that you need to plan for. For example you may want to help your children through university, help pay for a wedding, support a house purchase or need to look after elderly relatives.

Whatever your stage in life, we'll talk everything through with you.

Talking  about balancing risk and reward

We need to talk about how much risk you are willing to take to achieve your financial goals so we can build a plan you're comfortable with. We aim to strike a balance between risk and reward by understanding:

  • Your personal attitude to risk (which may change over time depending on your circumstances)
  • Your short-term and long-term financial goals
  • Your personal circumstances and how much you can afford to lose (your capacity for loss)

Once we've talked about all these points, we're able to understand your finances and goals and build your personal plan.

What happens after your first meeting?

Your personal plan

We’ll take all the information you’ve told us and build your personalised plan. It will cover your financial situation and recommend how to meet your financial goals.

We’ll arrange a second meeting to talk you through your plan and you can ask any questions you’d like.

It’s then up to you to decide what, if anything you’d like to do.

Putting your plan in place

If you’re happy to go ahead with our recommendations, we’ll help you set up your plan and chat about when this could be in place. As well as help you fill in any forms you need to complete

There will be a charge if you decide to go ahead with our recommendations. Your adviser will discuss this with you.
