Check if a letter or email is from us

If you’ve received a communication from us, whether it’s a letter or an email, we want to help you confirm that it's genuinely from us or one of the businesses we partner with.

Prudential websites

Prudential is now part of M&G plc and we've upgraded our website so you'll no longer see pru.co.uk in your browser address bar.

For some time, until we have updated all of our communications you may still see us use pru.co.uk or www.mandg.com/pru/customer

If you use a search engine (for example, Google) to find us, you'll be directed to www.mandg.com/pru/customer

If you've registered for our online services you'll still see pru.co.uk when you login.

You can verify our webpage by going to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) website and searching for Prudential under the Financial Services Register, and clicking on our website link.

Here are some ideas on how to spot a fake website:

  • Limited information when you click on links on the home page
  • Broken links to other parts of the site
  • Spelling mistakes and poor grammar
  • Promises of returns that are beyond market averages – if it’s too good to be true, then it probably is.

Letters we send

If you've got a product or policy that’s eligible for the online service, we may write to you to let you know how to register for this. The letters have URLs – web addresses that take you directly to the relevant page of a website. The URL can be typed into a search browser or clicked on if it’s in an email.

The following URLs that are in our letters go to the policy type page at the start of the online registration process.

  • pru.co.uk/registernow
  • pru.co.uk/signup

The online service registration page can also be found using a search engine like Google. A link to the registration page can be found on the top right hand side of the Prudential home page at www.mandg.com/pru/customer.

If for some reason we’ve lost contact with you, we’ll send you a letter to what we believe is your current address or contact you through the Department of Work and Pensions.

In some of our tracing letters we’ll give you the option to complete an online form by visiting pru.co.uk/updatenow

Please follow the instructions on this page if you're given this option.

Our letters may also include a form for you to complete and return in a pre paid envelope. You can find out more about the postal addresses we use at pru.co.uk/reconnect

We ask for this information so we can make the necessary checks to ensure you're our customer before we update your address details.

Ensuring your information is kept up to date

As part of our regulatory obligation to ensure that the information we hold on organisations and individuals we do business with, including any associated parties is kept up to date, we may have to reach out to you if something requires updating on your file.

If we require information from you, we'll email you from Duediligence_support@Mandg.com and ask that you log in to our due diligence portal to review the request and respond. The portal URL is https://outreach.mandg.com/.

Emails we send

Many of the emails that you’ll receive from us will end in the following domain names:

@prudential.co.uk
@comms.pru.co.uk
@mandg.com
@mandg.co.uk
@digitalnews.mandg.com

Here are some examples of the sender addresses that we use:

When we partner with other companies, for example when we conduct research and surveys or send customer newsletters, we’ll use email addresses and website links for those partner companies.

Here are some examples of what you may see:

If you've got a product or policy that’s eligible for the online service, we may send you emails letting you know how to register for this.

We’ll personalise the email with your name and indicate what type of policy you have (for example a pension or bond), but it won’t have any other personal information in it.

The emails we send have URLs that go to the policy type page at the start of the online registration process. The URLs are:

  • pru.co.uk/registernow
  • pru.co.uk/signup

Re-setting your online account

If you’ve previously registered for the online service, you may receive an email from us asking you to reset your login details. These emails have a unique registration link that will expire after a given date and time.

If the unique link has expired you can still re-register at the www.mandg.com/pru/customer home page, using the Register button on the top right hand side of the webpage or by using the URL pru.co.uk/online

Encrypted secure emails

We may send you an encrypted secure email directly. You'll be asked to register to read it by clicking on a link in that email.

The senders email address will end in one of our standard domain names, as shown in the 'Emails we send' section above.

Requests to take part in research or surveys

From time to time we undertake surveys or do research to find out about the quality of our service and products that we offer.

If you’ve been contacted by email or phone about research, you can find out more by going to the ‘Research and surveys we conduct’ article.

Other communications you've received

If you’re concerned about any other emails or letters that you’ve received, please contact us or send details to M&GFraud@mandg.com. If you received an email please try to send the original as an attachment, rather than forwarding it. If it's a letter please try to send a picture of it to us.
